Back to work today! At least it's going to be 80 degrees and it's only a 3 day week...not so bad! I was so tired when I woke up this morning (go figure, after so many days off) but I did manage to squeeze in a weights workout before I had to get ready. I mostly used Fitnessista's Winter Shape Up week 3, adding a few more exercises. I fully plan on going for a walk after school since it will be so beautiful.
One of the things I have been wanting to try is swiss chard. I always see it in Whole Foods and it always looks so pretty, but for some reason I haven't tried it. Finally 2 days ago since I was already spending a ton of money I decided to buy some. For dinner I decided I would make swiss chard wraps. I steamed some shrimp and the edamame mix from Trader Joe's to be used in the wraps.
1 large swiss chard leaf cut into 3 pieces (with stem cut from bottom)
10 small shrimp
edamame mix from trader Joe's (about 3/4 a cup)
1/2 zucchini spiralized
cut up carrots in long strips (3 or 4)
Put all of the stuffings into each one of the wraps. Add some soy sauce and enjoy for a healthy dinner!
round 2
sorry for blurriness, Danny took this quick before the camera died!
Okay, off to work..have a great day!
I also tried my first Chocolate Cherry Mix Shake. After seeing these all over the blog world, I had to try it. I am so glad I did...! For those of you who make these, this may be a silly question, but do you put protein powder in these? Do they keep you fuller for longer when you add that? I just made this for a snack, so I didn't mind I was hungry for dinner when the time came.
I used:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup Trader Joe's Very Cherry Frozen Fruit Mix
1 T cacao powder
splash vanilla extract
Put in cup and mix with immersion blender! Yum, this really is amazing! Next up is a green monster! I'm still nervous to try :)
I loved "chatting" on #fitblog last night! It was my first tweet chat (is that what they are called??) and I loved finding new blogs. I can't wait to come home to tonight and read more of them. Have you participated in any tweet chats?
Okay, off to work..have a great day!

I love chard! I've never thought to make wraps with it, that's such a great idea! And that shake looks so good!
Love the look of the wraps...perfect for hot weather.
I've read about the cherry shakes in the blogworld too...unfortunately I can't find frozen cherries here...have to wait for the fresh ones in summer.
Haven't done and tweet chats...will have to check it out some day!
Yum! I have been having kale wraps this week. Love making wraps out of big leafy greens!
I don't know if my last comment showed up. Blogger does not seem to like me.
I have been using flat kale to make wraps this week. I love using big greens for wraps!
Nicole, your wraps look wonderful. The colors are really most appealing. I can't wait to give these a try. I hope the remainder of your week will be stress free. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary
Those wraps are beautiful! I've also used swiss chard in a bean soup which was delicious!
The wraps look great - I have been interested in trying Swiss Chard lately, too! As well as green monsters. Glad I'm not the only one left who's yet to brave them! :P

Yum! What is in edamame mix? I see some corn...
I've never tried a tweet chat before, but I'm still getting used to the whole Twitter thing in general... ;)
You should definitely try a green monster-- you can't taste the greens at all!
love the chard wraps and they look "Stable". My collard or cabbage wraps sometimes "leak" LOL
protein in the shake, can go either way depending on what you're feelin'
xoxo

The swiss chard wraps are a great idea, so fresh and healthy!
I adore chard, yet I've never had it raw or used it as a wrap, great idea.
