Slowly and surely I’ve been getting back into my workout routine. I took a lot of time off over the past two weeks. I really enjoyed the time off (I had to take) and used it as a way to reset. When I went back to working out I only did very light weights (2 and 3 pounds). I’m not back to running yet, but I did do the elliptical for 20 minutes over the weekend on the lightest setting.
I’m going to be working out from home over the next few days, until the 3 week mark and then I’ll slowly get back into the gym. I’ve been looking for some new workouts and I figured Piloxing and Core Fusion would be a great place to start.
I heard about Piloxing from Melissa and then I checked it out for myself on Exercise TV. They had a 20 minute version and after doing it I wanted to try the dvd. The people from Piloxing graciously sent me their DVD for me to check out.
The workout is a combination of pilates and boxing and goes through both, every couple of minutes. You don’t need any equipment for this dvd, but 1 pound boxing gloves can be used. (I WILL be getting those!)
Vivica Jenson is the creator of Piloxing and she was very motivating throughout the workout. She was easy to follow and so were the other women. She also didn’t talk too much, which I find can happen on dvds sometimes.
The moves are very easy to follow and got my heart rate up. It wasn’t a intensely heart pumping workout, but it was a good way to get moving. I would say the intensity is moderate, but at times the burn is intense, especially in the legs. The leg work towards the end of the workout is done on the floor on a mat and it’s hard! My legs were burning and so were my abs by the end.
The workout has about a 5 minute warm up, 40 minutes of kickboxing and (standing) pilates alternatively, 5 minutes of leg and glutes, 5 minutes of ab work and 5 minute stretch and cool down. I can’t wait to get the 1 pound gloves because I know it will take the workout intensity up a notch.
Here is a quick preview for the dvd:
I love working out in my living room and this is another dvd to add to my growing collection. I will be adding this into my routine!
I definitely would recommend getting this dvd if you are interesting in kickboxing and/or pilates. If you have any other questions about this, email me or check out their website.
I’m off to day 2 of back to work!
Have you tried any new workouts lately? Please share!

Ok I have never even heard of this but it totally looks like fun!! I usually dont like girl trainers because they talk too much and seem too prissy, but this one looks like tons of fun!! I know my sister and I would totally love doing this together!
I just heard about this yesterday! I am definitely going to check out the Exercise TV one and if I like it (which I’m sure I will) I’m going to buy it for sure! I just started boot camp yesterday for the first time. I entered my name into a drawing and won! It’s a lot different from anything I’ve ever done, so I’m really enjoying it!
You will love it!
I have to admit, I’m awful about finding new work outs. I tend to stick with the same old same old. I like routine and I like repetition. It’d be great for me to break out of the box a little and try something new, but that’s not common, haha.
I have never heard of piloxing, but am intrigued by all things fitness
I’m teaching a class called 3, 2,1, Jump! It’s 3-min of kickboxing/plyos/agility, 2-min strength, and 1-min jump rope repeated for 45 minutes. So fun!

But if you are more of a wash-n-go kind of person, this would be a good option for you.
Although the stew could have originated any place where US and
Korean forces were stationed together, it would be Uijongbu that would forever be associated
