Morning! I just finished a yoga podcast, which I needed. I woke up feeling stiff this morning from running 12 miles yesterday.
Yes, 12 miles. I can’t believe that I did that yesterday. Over the past 2 months, we’ve been slowly adding mileage to our runs and the biggest struggle we’ve had is finding the time to run all that way. It takes up a lot of time! But besides the time factor, we’ve been doing a pretty good job of making it somewhat painless. Yesterday was kind of tough for me, my head wasn’t in it and my stomach wasn’t 100%, but finally at mile 10 I hit a groove. I was about to finish 12 miles, my longest distance ever and I should be proud.
Back in high school I used to DREAD running 1 mile around the track for the physical fitness test, never did I think I would be training for a half. Isn’t it funny how things change?
After our run we made a recovery smoothie (more on that sometime this week) and headed into the city. I wanted to feel like a “real” person and not just a boring old teacher. I miss going into the city every week.
We went to Whole Foods to get supplies for our paninis we were making for dinner and then met our friends, Lauren and John at Northern Spy. Yum. I got a kale salad with feta and 2 baked eggs.
Then it was off to Liquiteria where we all got different types of juices. I got beet, pear, apple and lemon. Delish.
Okay I’m super late! I’ll leave you with a nice quote from Dave Farmar this morning… “Shine out love and gratitude”.
Hi to all my new readers! Hope you had a great weekend!

Congrats on the run Nicole! That is great. I am with you on the running around the track…I think I still associate running with that and can’t bring myself to love it. Maybe one day. I hope you have a great day!
GREAT job on the 12 miles!!!
I was definitely on of those kids that hated the physical fitness test days in gym class. Those laps around the track seemed never-ending. Good for you for running 12 miles. That’s really impressive!
Congrats on the mileage! I can only dream of running that much! Are you planning a race anytime soon? If I ws running that much I would def need a reason too! lol Great job!

The smoothies sound yummy
Congrats on the 12 miles! I don’t think I could ever foresee myself running that length. I guess anything is possible though with time. You’re showing that.
Just added this blog to my favorites. I enjoy reading your blogs and hope you keep them coming!
