Morning! As I’m sitting here icing my knee, I thought I’d tell you a little bit about my week…because you don’t know enough about me already.

very, very tight and sore IT band. It kind of came out of nowhere on Tuesday when I was walking downstairs at work. I’m resting from all cardio type exercise until Sunday and stretching/icing it. Hopefully it will be okay by then. Clearly I know it was a perfect storm of conditions at the 15k on Sunday. I’m feeling frustrated because I feel like I could have possibly prevented it. I do feel like I sprained my ankle in November because of all the uneven pavement + fast running and this time I think it was the hills, uneven road, fast running, cold, old sneakers, etc. I’m NOT pushing it this time though and am resting.
Lesson Learned of the week:
Buy new sneakers before you think you should. I knew I needed new sneakers since my half and I was lazy and didn’t buy them. I’m convinced the lack of support is why my IT band is acting up…plus I didn’t warm up before the run and it was hilly. Why did I do all of these things if I know better? I have no idea. Lesson learned.
Best and Exciting Moment of the week:
We signed the contract on our future home yesterday! Hopefully everything goes well from here on out! We are still trying to sell our beautiful 2 bedroom co-op in Queens. Anyone??

I need to buy new shoes soon – I always try to buy them right before they go “bad.” I get injured if I don’t.

Congrats on the 15K & Congrats on the new home!! So exciting. Bummer about the IT band though. Think you are spot on with the sneaks. You should be doing foam roller stretches for the IT band if you are not already. They are not the most fun feeling, but really good to keep those babies healthy. Wait til you heal a little before you start rolling, but long term it helps with preventing injuries!
How exciting! Buying a house is a blast, but stressful too. At leasts ours was. Hope you can sell your place quickly!
