Holy hotness! I just got back from a 5 mile run around the park and I really worked up a sweat. Well honestly, I started sweating basically the minute I stepped out the door. I’m grateful Danny got me out of the house before 11 am because I would have kept doing work for hours.
Even though I get up at 6:30 every morning, I end up getting sucked into emails, twitter, facebook, blog reading and writing…and let’s be honest…coffee and The Today Show. Ohh…it’s too easy to get involved in a time suck.
I didn’t want to have a full breakfast before running…so I broke out a new treat. Slapped some almond butter on 2 of these and called it a..half breakfast….green smoothie to follow post run.
In a small cup combine 2 tbsp chia seeds with 3 tbsp water. Mix and let sit for 5 minutes to gel up. In the meantime, in a large bowl combine oats, puffed millet, hemp, protein powder (or cocoa) and almond butter. Mix to combine. Add in chia seeds and vanilla extract and mix again. Lastly, add in dried blueberries and dark chocolate chips. Make sure everything is incorporated well. You can either roll these into ball bites, use a paper or silicone muffin liner. If using muffin liners, spoon and flatten down with the back of the spoon. It will make about 16-18 balls or mini cakes.
You can also do a combination of both mini cakes or balls, like I did!
Off to do more work! Enjoy your day!

Oh yeah, I totally know what you mean about the time suck. It’s probably good that I can’t read blogs at work because I doubt I’d ever get anything done, haha!
