Happy Friday! What’s on your agenda for the day? I’m sure everyone is scurrying around in a Christmas frenzy!
I’ve got a ton of baking to do, among other things because I’m hosting Christmas. Where are you going for Christmas? I’ve wanted to host Christmas in my first house probably since I got married. Something about having the people you love in our house as such as special time of year makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Even if our house isn’t painted, we have a hole in the wall where the bathroom’s supposed to be and we don’t have all the furniture I’d like, it still will be special. I’ve had to give up control and I think it’s a good thing.
So more lists will be made today.
Last night we went to dinner with my good friends Meg and Rob. It was a midweek treat to celebrate my birthday and I got the BEST present ever.
Good thing I had whipped up some more truffles before I went. I decided that I’m going to make an assortment of truffles for Christmas Day. Meg & Rob are perfect to test things out on because they both eat anything & are open to trying new things. I went with a gingerbread truffle that Danny hated. I loved it, but Danny sort of gagged from the nutmeg. It actually was quite funny. Bottom line: If you hate nutmeg, DO NOT make these. I’m also toying with the idea of dipping these in chocolate.
Ingredients In a food processor combine all ingredients except chocolate chips. Process until everything is ground and ingredients start to come together. Add chocolate chips and process again until broken up and worked into ingredients. Roll into balls about 1 tbsp each.
Put these in a tin with a nice seasonal ribbon and it’s a perfect holiday gift! If you want more truffle ideas check out Pure2Raw, they have more amazing ones on their blog today!
Do you do homemade Christmas gifts? I usually pair my homemade treats with a real bought gift. I love the homemade touch!
I’m getting my living room nice and toasty to get my hot yoga on. Gotta stay balanced! If you want more tips on how to stay balanced check out FitFluential’s compilation of amazing tips on achieving holiday balance!
