Morning!
How was your Easter? We had such a nice day yesterday, not to mention it was GORGEOUS out. We spent a lot of the day outside just hanging out and even walked down to the beach. The food was good and company was better. So blessed to have such a wonderful family to spend it with.
What else?
12 week update!
This Saturday was 12 weeks of pregnancy for me. I can’t decide if that feels like a long time or short, but it doesn’t really matter since I have a long way to go.
Some info:
Baby Size: 2.1 inches (size of a plum)
Baby Weight: .49 oz.
Countdown: less than 28 weeks to go!
How I’m feeling: Less nauseous, still tired, but not as wiped out tired.
Pants are still fitting but get snugger when I eat. By the end of the day I feel pretty bloated, but wake up feeling better. Stomach is pretty poo-chy according to me and feels very pushed out. I also feel like all of my muscles went into hiding and I know won’t be back for awhile. Trying to get adjusted to it because it IS for good reason.
Foods I am loving: breakfast is still eggs on a brown rice wrap with ketchup with some fruit. Love watermelon. Ketchup is happening quite often (mostly organic version). Apples. Soup. Lots of soup. Sweet potato fries with…ketchup.
Foods I’m hating: Peanut butter, oatmeal, smoothies, beans, most chocolate. (Except I did have some ice cream cake and chocolate covered strawberries over the weekend. Strawberries did not go over well, ice cream cake was a win but I only had a few bites.)
Veggies, salads and lean meats are happening because I’m kind of making myself eat them for lunch and dinner. Kale chips also made a re-entrance into my life this past week.
Exercising: I’m happy to report even when I was feeling sick I didn’t miss a workout. I was able to workout consistently the entire time. Even when I was sick on the couch a walk or run was the ONLY thing that would make me feel better (besides eating 1/2 a loaf of bread.) My workouts are less intense and I’m certainly listening to my body. I’ve decreased my weights and am careful during cardio. Exercising keeps my mood up and makes me feel great. I have been trying to stretch more also because my body needs it.
Sleep: Sleep has been ok. Sometimes I’m up for up to 2 hours in the middle of the night. I’ve been taking naps occasionally if I need to but less and less as the weeks go on. I get up usually once a night to go to the bathroom sometimes two.
Weight Gain: Not weighing myself every week. There’s no reason to (for me). I got weighed at the doctor 1.5 weeks ago at my 11 week appointment and lost 3 pounds from being sick. I think I’ve gained it back but I’ll find out in 2.5 weeks when I go back to doctor!
Thoughts: Feeling very lucky and blessed. Our family and friends are so excited for us and this baby is already so spoiled.
That’s about it I think. I’m going to get moving, do some work and go workout.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Congrats! I don’t know how I missed your exciting news! I always get the end of day super bloat! I also had aversions to smoothies during my last pregnancy (sniff, sniff, tear). I’m glad you’re able to continue working out, I had to take a good 5 week hiatus because I was so sick. It’s amazing how good a workout feels even when you’re not at your best or able to work your hardest.
