Hi all! I know I’m blogging a bit later than usual but I wanted to stop in, say hi and tell you about my morning.
I had quite the morning. After baking at the commercial kitchen and getting home at almost mid-night then waking up at 5:45 to head into the city, I’m exhausted…but it was worth it.
So some behind the scenes things I don’t often talk about on here regarding Pure Bliss Eats…
I applied for a small business loan through Accion, which I learned about through the commercial kitchen I rent space from. I’m working on raising capital through a micro-loan and other ways to really get Pure Bliss Eats to move forward in a big way. Obviously to run a business you need money and Danny and I have been funding it just ourselves so far…now that we’re looking to do bigger things and hopefully get certified organic, expand, change over labels, etc we need financing.
The first place we went is to Accion where we met with Elizabeth who was very knowledgeable, sweet and helpful….and got me into this Tory Burch Foundation event. I have to admit that I wanted to go because I love all things Tory Burch, bags, shoes, etc and I love her background. I did not know she was such the philanthropist until I started reading about the foundation.
I didn’t know what to expect or how many people would be there, but it ended up being about 30. It was very intimate and I was blown away by the women in the room. All of them have amazing stories and I was so inspired by how networking, hard work, confidence and drive has moved them forward. I even got to ask Tory a question during the panel Q&A and then meet with her afterwards.
I am feeling especially grateful for this opportunity. I walked away with even more confidence, the start of a plan and the reminder to always stay humble.
Thank you to the Tory Burch Foundation and Accion for having me!

It’s a shame that most people don’t know about the philanthropic actions of popular bands. Thanks for sharing!
This is so awesome, Nicole! I am so excited for you and the future of Pure Bliss Eats. You are amazing and one of my heroes – I love how you walked away from your stable, comfortable job to start something that you knew in your heart was where you should be.
