We decided two weekends ago to give some DIY a try on our fireplace. I’ve HATED the tile around it since we moved it, but I didn’t realize you could give fireplaces such a facelift with not that much money and some time. Danny and I aren’t the most skilled, but we’re also not the least either…so when our tile started to randomly fall off, I started searching. Gotta love pinterest because I found a tutorial that seemed decently easy.
I’m going to share how we did it with you, hopefully later this week. It’s not 100% done yet, so I want to wait until it is. The before and after is pretty good I think!
This weekend Danny and I also celebrated my friend Joanna’s 30th birthday at Brick Cafe in Astoria. I don’t even know the last time Danny and I went out, that wasn’t a wedding. My cousin babysat and we got to enjoy a great dinner with friends.
I’m so lucky that we have help and so much family that lives close to us, but I have to say sometimes I honestly don’t think to ask for help/babysitters. Danny is really good about kicking me out of the house on the weekends to give me some alone time, but it’s not that often Danny and I take time for ourselves. It’s so important and we need to get it on the calendar once a month. It doesn’t need to be a dinner, but just going for coffee or even a walk (when the weather decides to get warmer) is all it takes.
Other weekend things:
coconut flour waffles with blueberry chia jelly are a big hit
(her appetizer was a muffin because she couldn’t wait for waffles to be done!)
big helper
friends <3
just two girls hanging out
Thanks to Katie for the link up. It was a great weekend and I’m ready to start a great week too… but can it please be above 35 degrees?
Have a great Monday!

PLEASE spring, I feel ya on that!
How cute that picture of you two just being girls, so sweet!
I was SO bad at getting a sitter or help with Rocco, we finally got someone last month and it’s amazing! Luckily my godmother offered and she is a regular sitter now, and we have a nanny once a week which is great for me.
It is nice to do grocery shopping, make any appointments I have that day, blog stuff, and more. Really a big help, since I have no family help! My sisters and parents really can’t help me, so it is awesome we have others now.
Happy Monday! <3
When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added”
checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four emails
with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
Thanks!
